On December 14, 2017, The Walt Disney Company announced a definitive agreement to acquire 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion in stock.[1] Assets being assumed by the acquisition include the 20th Century Fox film and TV studios, Fox Networks Group (along with cable channels such as FX), stakes in National Geographic Partners, Asian satellite TV group Star, additional 30% stake in Hulu, and other key assets. 21st Century Fox will spin-off the Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Television Stations, Fox News, the Fox Business Network, FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes and the Big Ten Network into the "New Fox" company.[2][3]
Airport terminals – You can also go straight to the airport to book tickets. It may seem like something that happens only in the movies, but a surprisingly large number of business travellers like to book directly. Often, you’ll stand a better chance of being upgraded to a higher seat class, although there’s a greater risk of encountering a fully-booked plane. If you are flexible, and willing to call the airport desk regularly, it’s also a good way to find out about last minute discounts that don’t show up on major flight aggregators.

Airline websites – If all you need to book is a flight, airline websites are sometimes the best place to visit. British Airways, Easyjet, Virgin, FlyBe, Ryanair and Lufthansa all have search engines on their websites that allow you to consult schedules and make purchases. They may also have special portals for frequent fliers, enabling you to accumulate extra points when you book directly – something that flight aggregators don’t always include.

"It seems like about 15 minutes ago I was spending a really dreadful day in a not-very-nice hotel suite in Baltimore waiting to see if I could get vote number — what was I looking for, 23 right?" quipped Manfred, who won the vote to succeed Bud Selig in August 2014 after beating out two other contenders. "It seems almost impossible that four years have gone by."

Despite Disney passing antitrust approval from United States, Europe, and India, still awaiting approval from the rest of the regulators, critics of Disney's purchase expressed concern of a significant amount of antitrust concerns. The deal is a horizontal merger (i.e., in which a company buys up a corporation that produces the same goods and products) as opposed to a vertical merger (i.e., two companies that operate at separate stages of the production process for a specific finished product), much akin to the integrations of AT&T–Time Warner and Comcast–NBC Universal. As such, horizontal mergers are more disapproved than vertical mergers, as they effect a more tangible reduction in competition.[60] The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) states in its own website that "The greatest antitrust concern arises with proposed mergers between direct competitors (horizontal mergers)."[61]

The MoffettNathanson report also highlighted how the deal can help Fox’s prime-time lineup, which averaged 3 million viewers on Thursday nights last season. “Even outside of Thursday nights, we can see that no general entertainment show on Fox network last season even came close to ‘TNF’s’ average rating. ‘TNF’ could also help Fox with higher promotional awareness for the rest of its schedule.”
Couldn't agree more. Moral views on prostitution vary. I could never lower myself to it but some consider it purely a financial transaction. Some have no self-control. When you see a tiny young girl who is being bought by an often obese much older guy it turns the stomach (though tourists of all ages and nationalities are at it). Some justify it to themselves as the women are happy to earn good money so everyone's a winner. But I found it utterly sad. And that's before you get into the exploitation aspects and paedophile side of it. That said, it's quite easy to avoid that side of very specific parts of Thailand and it's a great country to visit. You're not condoning what people do if you visit there.
At the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on January 11, 2018, producer J. Miles Dale, who accepted the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Picture for The Shape of Water, urged Disney "not to mess" with 20th Century Fox's indie studio Fox Searchlight Pictures, saying, "they're making the kind of movies that we need to make, we want to make, and people need to see."[83]

However, for everyday passengers, the key development would be more mundane: deregulation and the opening of new airports in the 1980s led to an explosion of budget airlines. Suddenly companies like Ryanair and Easyjet appeared, offering remarkably low prices. By using out of the way airports, offering no-frills on-board services and bargaining with UK airports, these companies revolutionised air travel for British customers.

As you can see on the chart below, people on average pay less per flight booking on Thursdays and Fridays. It would appear that people spend more booking on Saturdays and Sundays than other times of the week. However, statistics are pretty flexible. For example, it may be that people just book flights for more passengers at the weekend, or are more inspired to book flights to long-haul destinations. There are so many variables to think about you can't rely on booking flights on a certain day to get the cheapest deal:
One distribution studio executive denounced the deal, saying that "If I was an independent mom-and-pop theater, I would just close down; there's no way to survive. With a 40% market share, how do you negotiate against that?"[68] John Roper, the general manager of the Phoenix Theatre in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, said that Disney/Fox had him worried about even stricter rules in the future, stating, "It's not good for any type of industry when a company grows that large. Disney holds all the cards, and we have to play by their rules. Smaller cinemas are just left in the dust." Roper decided not to screen Star Wars: The Last Jedi because of Disney's strict conditions of requiring the theater to run the film four weeks straight and play it four times a day (as opposed to other studios, who only require a minimum of two weeks for a film run and play it one time a day). Elkader Cinema in Elkader, Iowa, opted out the movie for the same reason, with owner Lee Akin stating that "I can't get the entire town in my auditorium in one week's time let alone four."[69]
